Below is a list of colleges, universities, and technical schools offering 2-year, 4-year, or post-graduate degree programs in some horse-related field of study.   • Averett College — Averett College in Danville, VA offers a four-year degree in Equestrian Studies.
  • Cazenovia College — Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, NY offers a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Management with a specialization in Equine Business Management.
  • Centenary College — Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ offers either a four-year Bachelor of Science degree or a two-year Associate of Science degree in Equine Studies. Equine Studies majors may choose to focus on one of six areas: Riding Instruction and Training, Communication for the Equine Industry, Equine Business Management, or Equine Science. An equine minor is also available.
  • Central Florida Community College — Central Florida Community College in Ocala, FL offers a two-year Associate of Science degree in Equine Studies and also a college certificate in Equine Assistant Manager.
  • Colorado State University — Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO offers a baccalaureate degree program with a major in Equine Sciences in two concentrations: science and industry. Graduate studies are also available in the areas of Equine Orthopaedics, Equine Reproduction, and Equine Nutrition.
  • Delaware Valley College — Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA offers a four-year baccalaureate degree in Equine Studies.
  • Feather River College — Feather River College in Quincy, CA offers a two-year associate degree program in Pack Station and Stable Operation.
  • Hocking College — The Hocking College School of Natural Resources in Nelsonville, OH offers an Associate of Applied Science in Equine Health and Complementary Therapies, an Associate of Applied Science in Wilderness Horsemanship, and an Associate of Technical Study in Farrier Science and Business.
  • Johnson & Wales University — The Johnson & Wales University College of Business in Providence, RI offers both Associate and Bachelor’s degree programs in either Equine Business Management. Also offered is a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management/Riding and an Associate’s degree in Equine Studies.
  • Lake Erie College — Lake Erie College in Painesville, OH offers B.S. degrees with majors in Equine Business and Facility Management or Equestrian Teacher/Trainer. LEC also offers opportunities for study abroad.
  • Martin Community College — Martin Community College in Williamston, NC offers either a certificate, a diploma, or an Associate Degree in Equine Technology.
  • Michigan State University — The Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI offers both undergraduate and graduate coursework in equine-related areas.
  • Middle Tennessee State University — Middle Tennessee State University’s School of Agribusiness and Agriscience in Murfreesboro, TN offers a Bachelor of Science degree with an Animal Science major and a concentration in Horse Science.
  • Midway College — Midway College in Midway, KY offers a wide range of equine-related degree programs including a Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies with a Concentration in Health & Rehabilitation, Bachelor of Arts in Equine Studies with a Concentration in Applied Equine Management, Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration – Equine Business, Associate of Arts in Equine Studies with a Concentration in Applied Equine Management, Minor in Equine Studies, and a Certificate in Applied Equine Studies.
  • Morehead State University — Morehead State University in Morehead, KY offers a B.S. in Animal Science, an A.A.S. (two-year) in Equine Technology, a minor in horsemanship, as well as pre-veterinary medicine and veterinary technology. Morehead State has a competitive riding team and offers stock seats, hunt seats, and saddle seats.
  • Morrisville State College — Morrisville State College in Morrisville, NY offers two-year Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees in Equine Science and Management and Equine Racing Management. Also available is a four-year Bachelor of Technology (B.T.) degree in Equine Science with specializations in Equine Science and Management, Equine Breeding, Equine Business Management, and Equine Racing Management.
  • Mount Ida College — MIC in Newton, MA offers a Bachelor’s degree program in Equine Management.
  • Murray State University — The Department of Animal and Equine Science within the School of Agriculture at MSU in Murray, KY offers a Bachelor’s degree program in Animal/Equine Science.
  • North Central Texas College — North Central Texas College in Gainesville, TX offers a two-year A.A.S. degree program in Equine Science as well as certificate programs in Equine Management & Training and Equine Breeding Farm Management.
  • Northwest College — Northwest College in Powell, WY offers an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Equine Studies.
  • Ohio University Southern Campus — Ohio University Southern Campus in Ironton, OH offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Equine Studies.
  • Oregon State University –Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR offers a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Animal Sciences with an Equine Science option.
  • Otterbein College — Otterbein College in Westerville, OH offers a four-year bachelor’s degree program with majors available through its Equine Science Department in the following areas: Equine Health Technology, Equine Facility Management, Equine Administration, and Equine Science Pre-veterinary Medicine/Pregraduate Studies.
  • Post University — Post University in Waterbury, CT offers a Bachelor of Science Degree program in Equine Management. The program can be customized to focus on one of several available specializations.
  • Rocky Mountain College — RMC in Billings, MT offers a Bachelor of Science Degree program in Equestrian Studies Within the Equestrian Studies program, students may choose an emphasis on Equitation and Training, Equine Business, Equine Instructor, Equine Journalism, or Therapeutic Riding.
  • St. Andrews Presbyterian College — St. Andrews in Laurinburg, NC offers a B.A. degree program with a major in either Equine Business Management or Therapeutic Horsemanship. Also offered is a minor in Equine Studies, a major in Business Administration with a Specialized Program of Study in Equine Business Management, and a competitive riding program.
  • Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College — The Mari Hulman George School of Equine Studies at SMWC in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN offers a Bachelor’s degree program with majors in General Equine Studies, Equine Training and Instructional, and Equine Business Management. Also offered is an Associate’s degree program in General Equine Studies.
  • Scottsdale Community College — Scottsdale Community College in Scottsdale, AZ offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Equine Science.
  • Southern Illinois University — The Department of Animal Science, Food & Nutrition at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL offers a B.S. Degree program with a major in Equine Science. SIU-C also offers a Master of Science degree in Animal Science, studying equine reproduction physiology. MS and PhD. Degrees with horses are also obtainable through Physiology and Zoology.
  • State University of New York — The College of Agriculture and Technology at SUNY in Cobleskill, NY offers a Bachelor of Technology degree in Animal Science with an Equine concentration and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Agricultural Business Management with a concentration in Equine Business Management. Also offered is an associate degree program in Animal Science with a concentration in Equestrian Studies and specializations in Horse Farm Management, Performance Horse Training, Therapeutic Riding, or Thoroughbred Management.
  • Stephens College — Stephens College in Columbia, MO offers a B.S. in Equestrian Business Management, a B.S. in Equestrian Science, a B.S. in Equestrian Science/Animal Science Program, or a 3:2 Equestrian Science Program.
  • Tarleton State University — Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX offers a four-year, Bachelor of Science Degree Program in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine Management.
  • Texas A & M University — The Department of Animal Science at TAMU in College Station, TX offers both a four-year undergraduate degree specializing in Equine Science as well as a graduate equine program offering both master’s and doctorate degrees.
  • University of Arizona — The University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ offers a B.S. degree in Animal Sciences with an emphasis on Equine. The Equine Science options include a Science Path or an Industry Path. Also offered are B.S. and Master’s Degree programs in Race Track Industry.
  • University of Connecticut — U of C’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Storrs, CT offers coursework in Animal Science with a concentration in Equine Studies in both their Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree programs.
  • University of Findlay — The University of Findlay in Findlay, OH offers four-year Bachelor’s Degree programs with majors in Equestrian Studies with emphasis in western riding/training, English riding/training, or Equine Business Management. The school also offers two-year Associate’s Degree programs in both Equestrian Studies—western riding/training emphasis and Equestrian Studies riding/training emphasis.
  • University of Florida — The Animal Science Department of the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL offers an undergraduate Equine Option within the Animal Science Industry Specialty. The Equine Option emphasizes production management and includes both general Animal Science courses and equine courses. The Animal Science Department also offers Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Equine Nutrition and Equine Reproductive Physiology.
  • University of Louisville — The University of Louisville in Louisville, KY offers both a B.S. degree in business administration with a major in equine administration and a post-graduate certificate program in equine administration.
  • University of Maine — The University of Maine in Orono, ME offers a four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Resource and Agribusiness Management with a concentration in Equine Business Management. Also offered are both a minor and a certificate in Equine Studies.
  • University of Maryland — The Department of Animal and Avian Sciences at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with an emphasis on horses. Also offered through the Institute of Applied Agriculture at UM is the Equine Business Management curriculum leading to an academic certificate.
  • University of Massachusettes at Amherst — An Equine Management Associates Degree program is offered through the Stockton School of Agriculture.
  • University of Minnesota-Crookston — UMC in Crookston, MN offers a B.S. in Equine Industries Management with an optional track to Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
  • University of New Hampshire — The College of Life Sciences & Agriculture in the Dept. of Animal and Nutritional Sciences at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH offers a B.S. in Animal Science with a concentration in Equine Science that follows one of three tracks: Equine Management, Therapeutic Riding, or Equine Science. The Thompson School of Applied Science offers an A.A.S. program with a specialization in Equine Management.
  • Virginia Intermont College — Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA offers a Bachelor’s Degree program in Equine Studies. Also offered are minors in Equine Studies and Equine-Assisted Growth & Learning.
  • Virginia Tech — Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA offers a four-year B.S. degree program in Equine Science. A graduate degree program in Equine Nutrition, Pasture Systems, and Exercise Physiology is offered, as well. There is an equitation program on campus with teams that participate in both intercollegiate hunt seat and dressage competitions. There is also a sporthorse and stockhorse breeding program. The Virginia/Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine is located on campus as well.
  • William Woods University — William Woods University in Fulton, MO offers a four-year baccalaureate program with majors in either Equestrian Science or Equine Administration.
  • Wilson College — Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA offers a four-year B.S. degree program with majors in Equestrian Studies, Equine Facilitated Therapies, and Equine Journalism.
